Why remember in December

The leaves fall from the trees
The wind blows a gentle breeze
The light gives me sight
The ocean is such a delight
The mountains up high
The birds flying by
The sand under my feel
The grass under my seat
The waves go to and fro
I just want you to know
We are all good inside
Fear causes us to hide
There is more to this world
Than what you are told
Look at the night sky
You see the bright stars flying by
We are all here together
We must stand together through all types of weather

An elderly man stood near a side street
Scrimmaging around for something to eat
All his clothes torn
Sorry and warn
He had no family or friends
Searching for ends
I couldn’t help but to ask
What he had in his flask
He said the dreams of the past
That didn’t last
With a sad frown he walked around town
Thinking of ways to ignore his sadness
Trying not to get lost in his own madness
He asks for the time
While he murmurs a rhyme
Betrayed and dismayed
Concrete is where he laid
Looking at the stars above
Trapped in a dream
Inside I scream
Bring back what is mine
For it can’t remove the time
Lift me up above the stars
And remove the bars

Darkness hides itself in the crevasse of a broken soul
All while it burns a hole
If you run to it to hide
You will find out it had lied
Everyone has this crutch
Sometimes it can hurt too much
Alone in the dark you stand
Looking for a helping hand
In the distance there is a light
In order to get to it you must fight
A candle can help you light your path
You just have to smile and laugh
Surrounding your heart with love
Is the shield which comes from above
G-d said let there be light
And the so the night became bright
Angels answer the call
They reach out and catch you when you fall
So stand tall in front of it all
Light surrounds your presence
If you can just feel it’s essence
Awaken your spirit
And don’t fear it
Envision the light entering your heart
Let it be a work of art
The darkness is cold and bold
Never let it take ahold
I will carry you to the end
Because you are my friend
Every dark cloud runs out of rain
And we will get over the pain
For darknesses reign has been too long
So I am putting light in a song
Solomon said all is meaningless under the sun
So let loose and have some fun
Darkness causes war
And what for

Up to the sky
G-d knows I try
To understand why
You must be high
Here… sit down and listen
For this advice must be given
Every soul emits a hum
Even for a bum
The richest men know this
That True love resides in a kiss
Life consists of hugs and tugs
And those damn bugs
Don’t get me wrong
Not all the words fit the song
Freedom requires sacrifice
Just another role of the dice
A peaceful environment to work
Is enough to make a grown man twerk
I have come a very long way
And every step I had to pay.
Any direction I choose
There is so much to lose
But I have faith in above
That one day I will see my love
I was always a lover and not a fighter
All this fighting squeezes my soul tighter
Lack of understanding and communication
Causes me incredible frustration
A million people’s thoughts fighting in my head
And yet I still can’t find a bed.
